The outer harbour in Great Yarmouth has won a contract with an offshore wind farm company.

The name of the installation firm has not been announced but EastPort UK said turbine parts should be arriving at the port from April.

It will bring in components from the continent over the next eight to 10 months ahead of construction at sea.

MT Hojgaard, which is working on a separate wind farm off Lincolnshire, will also set up base there in April.

It is not known where the turbines will be installed.

A wind farm off the Great Yarmouth coast, known as Scroby Sands, was opened in 2004.
