A Grade I-listed building in Norfolk could become an indoor market under proposals being drawn up by its new owner.

Hanse House in King's Lynn was recently bought by businessman James Lee.

His plans could see it turned into a market, registry office, art gallery, antique shop and waterside bistro.

The Prince of Wales visited the former warehouse in January to try and save it from closure.

The future of the medieval hanseatic warehouse was uncertain after Norfolk County Council decided to sell it and move its registry office from the building into the Town Hall.

The Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk said it had yet to receive any specific planning applications from Mr Lee, but the businessman said he hoped to start work on the building "immediately".

Each section of the building would be opened up in phases under the plans.
