Tribute to boy killed in King's Lynn crash

The family of a three-year-old boy from Suffolk who was killed in a crash in King's Lynn have paid tribute to their "little angel".

Rio Bell, from Lowestoft, died in hospital after he was hit by a car in King Street near the town's annual Lynn Mart fair on Wednesday.

Campaigners are now calling for the street to be closed for safety during the fair.

In a statement, Rio's family said: "He is now a little angel in heaven."

"Our little man, who was full of life, full of smiles and laughter, loved playing Mario Kart and playing on his motorbike," the statement said.

"This was such a sad loss for all the family, especially mum and dad."

Norfolk Police's serious collision investigation team is appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened at about 17:30 GMT.

On Saturday about 50 protesters linked arms to block King Street.

More than 3,500 people have signed an online petition calling for the street to be closed while the Mart is in progress for the last two weeks of February.
