Labrador dog in Norfolk lifeboat rescue drama

A dog was rescued by a lifeboat crew after being swept out to sea off the Norfolk coast.

The Labrador was being walked by her owner when she was swept away by the tide at Sea Palling on Sunday morning.

Volunteer crews from Happisburgh on a training exercise diverted to the area and found the dog on rocks on a reef.

They carried her into the boat and kept her warm before returning to the beach where she was reunited safely with her owner.

An RNLI spokesman said: "We believe the Labrador was a nursing mother so this rescue will make a great difference to her pups."
