A second man has been arrested over the murder of a 14-year-old girl found dead on Boxing Day more than 20 years ago.

Johanna Young disappeared from her family home in Watton, Norfolk, on 23 December, 1992.

A man in his 30s from the Thetford area has been arrested in connection with her death, police said.

Johanna's father Robert Young said his heart was "pounding" when he heard of the arrest of a man in his 40s on Thursday. He has since been bailed.

The teenager was last seen heading towards Watton town centre on the evening of her disappearance.

A dog walker found one of Johanna's trainers in undergrowth near Griston Road in the town, three days after she disappeared.

Her body was found partially clothed, covered in scratches and lying face-down in water.

A post-mortem examination found she died from drowning and a fractured skull.

Mr Young told the BBC he and his wife Carol were pleased that significant information was coming in, after many appeals in the past.

He said they were hopeful of closure and finally getting justice for Johanna.
