Forensics officers were at the house where a man died after being stabbed

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a man who was stabbed.

He was found following reports of a stabbing in South Market Road, Great Yarmouth, at about 22:20 GMT on Wednesday.

The victim, in his 50s, had sustained "serious injuries" and was taken to the hospital, but died shortly afterwards.

A man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s, both from the Great Yarmouth area, remain in police custody.

Temp Ch Supt Chris Balmer said the force does not believe there to be any threat to the wider public.

South Market Road is a minute's walk from the town centre and is largely made up of private rented properties with some carved up in to bed-sits.

Forensics officers were at the scene in Rutland Villa and in the garden.

The landlady, who did not want to be named, told me the man who was fatally stabbed and the two people arrested were her tenants.

She had been alerted to the incident by police late in the evening.
