Woman dies and two men arrested in police pursuit in Suffolk

Two men in their 20s and 40s have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Two men have been arrested after a person died during a police pursuit.

Police investigating a suspected vehicle theft were following a Land Rover Defender when it collided with a Nissan Juke in Suffolk on Sunday.

Norfolk Constabulary said the collision took place on the A143 in Earsham, near Bungay, just after 16:30 BST.

Two men from the Land Rover were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, both were treated in hospital for their injuries.

A female occupant of the Nissan Juke was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the incident was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, external (IOPC) by Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies.

A spokesperson for IOPC they had sent investigators to the scene and have began their inquiries.
