A11 Snetterton: HGV collision sees road closed by police

Norfolk Police are in attendance of a collision that closed the A11 at Snetterton

A major road has been closed by emergency workers after a collision involving a heavy goods vehicle.

Police were called to the A11 at Snetterton in Norfolk shortly before 07:00 GMT.

In a post on X, external, Highways East confirmed the Norwich-bound carriageway was closed due to the crash.

A lane closure was also in place for Thetford-bound traffic between the B1111 and the B1077, with drivers facing delays.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Police said the force was called at 06:28 to reports of a collision between three vehicles, and the fire and ambulance services also attended.

"An HGV has jack-knifed and transit van and mini were also involved," the force said.

National Highways later added that there were 30-minute delays northbound by the late morning and updates and diversion information would be posted on its website, external.

A spokesperson for East of England Ambulance Service said it was called at 06:49.

"We sent two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and East Anglian Air Ambulance," they said.

"One person was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further care."
