Great Yarmouth murder inquiry: Tribute paid to Tara Kershaw
- Published
The family of a woman found dead has paid tribute to her as a man appears in court charged with her murder.
The body of Tara Kershaw, 33, was discovered inside a house in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, on Saturday.
Adam Barnard, 40, of the same Princes Road address, has appeared via video link at Norwich Crown Court charged with murdering her. He is yet to enter a plea and was remanded in custody.
Ms Kershaw's family said they had lost a "beloved sister".
A statement issued through Norfolk Police added: "We would like to be given the time to grieve the loss of Tara and come to terms with the circumstances in which her life was taken.
"We would like to ask people to respect our wishes for privacy."
Police said they were called to a property after being told that the body of a woman was inside.
Post-mortem tests showed Ms Kershaw suffered compression injuries to her neck.
Det Insp Alix Wright said: "We continue with our inquiries to understand the full circumstances which led to Tara's death and would urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the days leading up to Saturday morning, to get in touch.
"We believe this to be an isolated incident and both parties were known to one another."
At Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday, Mr Barnard, who wore a beard and a cream-coloured jersey and grey trousers, spoke to confirm his name and date of birth.
He is accused of killing Ms Kershaw between Thursday and Saturday.
Judge Alice Robinson said a plea hearing would take place on 12 April.
The court set a provisional trial date of 29 July.
Norfolk Police has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct over previous police contact before Ms Kershaw died.
