House building in Wellingborough gets £1.4m boost
- Published
House building in Northamptonshire has been given £1.4m by the government.
The money from the Homes and Communities Agency will go towards 80 homes in Eastfield and 3,100 in Stanton Cross, both in Wellingborough.
The funding had been on hold following the Treasury's freeze on spending commitments.
The North Northants Development Agency said the money was a "significant boost" to the region, particularly in the current economic climate.
Chief executive Simon Evans added: "The decision to support projects across north Northamptonshire complements the area's recent growth and development and this funding will help to drive forward these currently stalled projects."
