Isham bypass planning extension approved

Planning permission for a long awaited £30m bypass in a Northamptonshire village has been extended for a further 10 years.
The A509 Isham bypass between Wellingborough and Kettering was initially approved in 2006.
The plans were extended by the county council's development control committee.
Northamptonshire County Council had to extend permission because it was unable to secure funding to build the road.
If the permission had lapsed the council would have had to go through the whole planning process all over again.
Conservative-controlled Northamptonshire County Council initially allocated funds for the bypass but it had to be withdrawn after the government's spending review.
The council said the bypass remained a priority.
