Cosworth engineering firm workers face jobs threat

A number of jobs are under threat at the Northampton-based motorsport engineering firm Cosworth.
The manufacturer confirmed it has started consultation with staff over possible redundancies.
The engine-making side was put up for sale earlier this month, but a spokesman said this was unconnected.
The company said it would not confirm the number of potential losses or where they might occur until staff had been fully consulted.
Cosworth, which also has a UK base in Cambridge, creates products for the automotive, aerospace and defence markets.
Last year the company, owned by Gerry Forsythe and Kevin Kalkhoven, was named Manufacturer of the Year.
