The list of candidates standing in the by-election for the seat of Corby and East Northamptonshire has been released.

The by-election was triggered by the resignation of sitting Conservative MP Louise Mensch in August.

Mrs Mensch, who won the seat at the 2010 general election, announced she was standing down for family reasons.

A total of 14 candidates are in the running to represent the constituency. Voting will take place on 15 November.

Among the candidates are Andy Sawford, for Labour, Conservative Party candidate Christine Emmett and Jill Hope for the Liberal Democrats.

Also standing are Jonathan Terence Hornett from the Green Party, Margot Parker for the UK Independence Party (UKIP) and Gordon Riddell from the British National Party (BNP).

Other candidates include Ian Francis Gillman (Independent), David Laurence Bishop (Elvis Loves Pets Party), Dr Rohen Kapur (Young People's Party UK), Adam Ismael Lotun (Democracy 2015), Mr Mozzarella (Independent), Peter John Reynolds (Cannabis Law Reform), Chris Scotton (United People's Party) and David Wickham (The English Democrats - "Putting England First!")

In the 2010 general election Mrs Mensch won the seat by only 1,951 votes. Labour had previously held the constituency since 1997.

Ninety-seven polling stations will be open for voting across the constituency between 07:00 and 22:00 GMT on 15 November.

The count will be held on Friday 16 November at Lodge Park Sports Centre in Corby.
