Tesco Direct staff at Daventry in talks over Fenny Lock plan

Supermarket retailer Tesco has started talks with about 200 staff affected by plans to move part of the company's distribution operation.

Tesco wants to move some of the work done at its Daventry centre to Fenny Lock in Milton Keynes.

The firm said the move to reopen the Fenny Lock site would create 300 jobs.

However, the changes mean about 200 posts at the Tesco Direct warehouse in Danes Way, Daventry, could be made redundant.

A spokesman for Tesco said: "We are working with USDAW to support affected colleagues through this difficult time.

"We hope to offer them all alternative roles within the clothing and grocery distribution centres at Daventry or at Fenny Lock."
