Hundreds hold rave at former colliery in Bevercoates

More than 1,000 people have taken part in a rave at a former colliery site in north Nottinghamshire, police said.

The gathering took place in Bevercoates, near Retford, on Saturday evening.

A police spokesman said they had recieved a number of complaints about the noise from the site.

She said officers were restricting access to the site but roads remained open to "reduce the impact on nearby residents and motorists".
