Prince Philip: 'I thought he would pull through this'

People in Nottingham and Leicester have been reacting with sadness to the news that the Duke of Edinburgh has passed away at the age of 99.

A statement issued by the palace just after midday spoke of The Queen's "deep sorrow" following his death at Windsor Castle on Friday morning.
