Hit-and-run crash leaves cyclist in critical condition

Nottinghamshire Police are working to identify the van driver

A cyclist is in a critical condition after being involved in a hit-and-run crash with a van.

Police said the 51-year-old man was found injured in Westbrecks Lane, South Leverton, Nottinghamshire at about 17:00 BST on Thursday.

Officers have appealed for witnesses as they work to find the van driver.

Insp Clare Gibson, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "It is every road user's responsibility to stop if they are involved in an incident."

Anyone who has dashcam footage or has spotted a damaged van in the area has been urged to contact the force.
