Officers are investigating after two dogs, believed to be American bully XLs, attacked another dog.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Adbolton Lane, West Bridgford, at about 15:30 BST on 6 October.

The attack left the dog with multiple injuries to its chest, back and right leg.

Police said they were working to trace the owner of the two dogs and have urged them to come forward.

It comes after numerous reports of attacks by bully XL dogs on humans, including some fatalities.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has previously described the dogs as "a danger to our communities" and said they would be banned by the end of the year.
