Woman in wheelchair rescued from storm flooding

A woman in a wheelchair was among residents who were rescued from a flooded village.

Firefighters were called to Lowdham in Nottinghamshire where they helped residents into a rescue boat.

Areas across the East Midlands were hit by widespread flooding after prolonged periods of heavy rain caused by Storm Babet.

The Environment Agency has issued multiple flood warnings and people in affected areas have been advised not to travel if they can avoid it.
