Clay stole chicken, bacon and coffee from shops

A persistent shoplifter has been banned from entering any Co-op store in Nottinghamshire after admitting to stealing coffee and packs of meat.

Samantha Clay, 38, was given a two-year criminal behaviour order at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 17 November.

It bans her from going to Victoria Retail Park in Netherfield.

Clay, of Conway Road, Carlton, Nottinghamshire, was also handed a six-month community order, including a drug rehabilitation requirement.

Police said Clay was given the order after pleading guilty to stealing coffee and packs of chicken and bacon from the Co-op in Westdale Lane West, Gedling, on 19 and 23 October.

PCSO Allan Cooke, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Clay is a serial shoplifter whose persistent offending has had a significant detrimental impact on the businesses she targeted.

"Quite frankly, they should not have to put up with this sort of behaviour."
