Detectives have appealed for information after the death of a man who was hit by a car in Nottinghamshire.

The pedestrian, in his 30s, suffered serious injuries as he walked along Ollerton Road in Budby, shortly after 04:00 GMT on 23 December.

Nottinghamshire Police said he was taken to hospital but died an hour later.

No arrests have been made but a car stopped at the scene, police added.

Detectives said the driver had been helping them with their investigation.

In an appeal, on Tuesday, a police spokesperson said: "This was a truly tragic incident that resulted in the untimely death of a man.

"Our thoughts remain with the victim's family and friends, who are currently being supported by specially trained officers."

Anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
