Woman hit by van suffers serious leg injuries near Nottingham Racecourse

Two men have been arrested after a woman was injured when she was hit by a van near to Nottingham Racecourse.

Officers were called to Racecourse Road in Colwick at 17:40 GMT on Tuesday.

Police said the woman's injuries were to her legs, but they were not thought to be life-threatening.

The van was still present when officers arrived at the scene, as were two men, aged 35, who were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The woman was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment.

Insp Kate Savage, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This incident has left a woman with very serious injuries and we are working to understand what happened."
