Eastwood: Man charged with murder of 'beautiful' mum of three

A man has been charged with the murder of a mum of three found dead in her home.

Michael McDaid, 60, has been charged with murder and possession of a Class B drug following Rachel McDaid's death.

The 53-year-old was discovered inside a house in Nottingham Road, Eastwood, shortly after 11:00 BST on Friday.

Nottinghamshire Police says Mr McDaid remains in police custody and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Monday.

In a statement shared by police on Sunday, Ms McDaid's family said they were "unable to come to terms with the fact they will never see her beautiful face and smile again".

They said: "We are heartbroken over the loss of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, auntie and cousin.

"As a family we were all so close, sharing jokes and precious time together, and the hole that has been left with the loss of Rachel is irreparable."
