The High Court has granted a judicial review of a decision to refuse an Oxford park Town Green status.

Campaigners took Oxfordshire County Council to court over its refusal to protect land next to Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre on Tuesday.

Oxford City Council wants to build an £8.5m, eight-lane, 25m pool and a teaching pool at the site.

It submitted the plans to replace pools at Temple Cowley and the existing pool at Blackbird Leys, in 2011.

A hearing is due to take place by the end of May.
