Jayden Parkinson killing: Memorial service held at church

Jayden Parkinson's body was found in a recently disturbed grave in the cemetery in Didcot

A memorial service has been held in memory of Jayden Parkinson, the teenager whose body was found in a disturbed grave in Oxfordshire.

The 17-year-old's body was discovered in Great Western Cemetery, next to All Saints Church in Didcot on 18 December.

Pupils from Jayden's school took part in the service at All Saints, in Lydalls Road.

Jayden's ex-boyfriend, Ben Blakeley, 22, from Reading, has been charged with her murder.

The service was led by the Reverend Karen Beck, with the address given by the Bishop of Dorchester, the Right Reverend Colin Fletcher.

Students from Didcot Girls' School, where Jayden was a pupil, sang during the service with tributes given by a number of her friends.

At the end of the service, white balloons were released in memory of Jayden, who was last seen alive on 3 December.

A 17-year-old boy from Didcot has been charged with perverting the course of justice and is due for a further appearance on 17 March.

He is accused of assisting in the disposal of Jayden's body and other evidence.
