Lincoln College student Marco Alessi said: "The success of the video has exceeded our wildest expectations.

"We've had so much fun in the aftermath reading articles in magazines and on websites all over the world.

"I've been stopped in the street a few times by people who recognise me as the weird guy who crawls like a cat."

Another singer, Ollie Nicholls, a student at St Anne's, added: "I think people are more forgiving when it's for charity; they can overlook the fact we can't dance."

The group have been supporting the hospice since 2006 and have raised more than £35,000 in that time.
