Didcot A power station development plans revealed

Hundreds of people stayed up overnight to view the demolition of the towers

Proposals to redevelop the site of the demolished Didcot A Power Station have been unveiled.

Developers Clowes and Graftongate want to build 400 new houses, shops, a hotel and a pub on the 116 acres (47 ha) of land.

Three enormous cooling towers at the disused Didcot A Power Station were demolished in July.

A public consultation on the proposals opens at Cornerstone Arts Centre on 17 January.

An outline planning application for the development was expected to be submitted following the consultation.

In October, a major blaze broke out at the neighbouring gas-fired Didcot B power station.

The fire which began in a cooling tower and spread to three others because of strong winds.
