A man has been arrested after staff at a city centre bank were threatened with an imitation gun.
Thames Valley Police said a man confronted workers at a bank on Cornmarket Street, Oxford, at about 10:00 GMT.
The incident was safely resolved after armed officers challenged a suspect, and no-one was injured, the force said.
A 40-year-old from Oxfordshire arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm remains in custody.
Supt Matt Bullivant, of Thames Valley Police, said: "This was a concerning incident and our officers rapidly deployed to the scene which led to the incident being safely resolved.
"Thankfully no-one was injured and I would like to praise staff for their handling of what must have been a very worrying incident."
