Oxfordshire: Pedestrian dies after HGV motorway collision

A pedestrian has died after she was struck by a lorry on the carriageway of a motorway.
Police were called to the southbound M40 near Watlington, Oxfordshire, shortly after 04:00 GMT.
The woman, who was aged in her 40s, was hit after getting out of her vehicle which was parked on the hard shoulder, officers said.
The motorway was closed for about 11 hours between junctions six (Watlington) and 8a (Oxford).
The lorry driver was not injured and no arrests have been made, Thames Valley Police said.
Officers have appealed for witnesses and drivers with dashcam footage to contact them.
