Barton Oxford stabbing: Boy, 15, arrested in attempted murder investigation

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers were called to Edgecombe Road in Barton, Oxford, just after 23:30 GMT on 29 February.

A man sustained several stab wounds and was taken to hospital, but has now been discharged.

The arrested boy, from Headington, Oxford, has been released on conditional police bail. A previously arrested 26-year-old man has also been released on police bail.

He had been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and obstructing/resisting a constable in the execution of their duty.

Det Insp Krista Thompson, of Oxford CID at Thames Valley Police, said: "Thankfully, the victim's condition was not life-threatening and he has now been discharged from hospital.

"We have made a further arrest in connection with this incident and I would like to reassure the community that we are making good progress with the investigation."
