More than £3m will be invested by a council to modernise a Shropshire town centre.

Improvements including an expanded Theatre Square and developing a 4,000 sq ft retail store have been proposed for Oakengates.

A redesigned bus station and improvements on Market Street and Oxford Street have also been planned.

Telford & Wrekin Council said work was expected to start on the £3.1m scheme by next summer.
