New car park charges introduced in Shropshire towns

New parking charges are to be introduced in three Shropshire towns and existing charges at other car parks are set to rise, the council says.
The charges - 10p for up to two hours - are to be introduced in some car parks in Market Drayton, Wem and Ellesmere from 1 April.
Other increases will match inflation, the council said.
A new parking strategy was approved by the council last December after consultation with residents and firms.
Shropshire Council said the charges had been developed "to make parking charges fair across the county, as well as mitigating the significant national funding cuts currently being faced by the council".
