90 Clover jobs to go at Shropshire Dairy Crest plant
- Published
Up to 90 people could be made redundant from a Dairy Crest plant in Shropshire.
The company has said it is proposing to consolidate the production of the dairy spread Clover at its site in Kirkby, Liverpool.
The manufacture of the spread is currently split between Kirkby and Crudgington, Shropshire.
Dairy Crest said about 45 jobs would be created at the Kirkby plant. A consultation process has been started into the plans.
A spokesman said the decision to transfer production had not been taken lightly.
"We are always reluctant to let employees go, and we will do all we can to lessen the impact of redundancy by helping them to find alternative employment," he said.
