Mark Hodnett was missing for five days after leaving a Shrewsbury club

An inquest has been opened into the death of a Shropshire man whose body was recovered from the River Severn.

The body of Mark Hodnett, aged 27, of Grange Road, Shrewsbury, was found by Kingsland Bridge in the town on 18 August.

Mr Hodnett went missing after leaving the C21 nightclub in Abbey Foregate at about 01:00 BST on 13 August.

Coroner Mr John Ellery heard evidence of identification before adjourning the hearing to a later date.
