Pupils have returned to a Shropshire school where a canopy collapsed and injured five construction workers.

The canopy is being removed from the Abraham Darby Academy to allow the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to continue its investigations.

The Ironbridge Road in front of the Madeley school will be closed on Monday until 19:00 BST and on Tuesday from 09:45 BST until early evening.

All five injured in the incident on 25 August have returned home.

Construction work is continuing on other buildings at the school which is part of a £35m redevelopment of the site.

Telford and Wrekin Council said it was too early to say whether the new buildings would be completed as planned by January.

The designs for the site include a new sixth form and community leisure facilities.

The plans will also see the nearby Woodlands Primary School move onto the site.
