An ice rink in Shropshire has closed until later this year while it undergoes a £4m refurbishment.

Public skating took place at Telford Ice Rink for the final time on Saturday afternoon ahead of the closure.

Telford & Wrekin Council said it anticipated that the rink would reopen in October.

A temporary synthetic skating facility, taking 50 people at a time, is due to open in Southwater Square in the town from 7 June until mid September.
