A new leisure and civic centre has been officially opened in Shropshire as part of a £9m town revamp.

The centre in Wellington includes a library, register office, cafe and a Telford and Wrekin Council customer service desk.

Council Leader Kuldip Sahota said the centre would be "key to the regeneration of the town".

A special plaque was unveiled at the building by Lord Grocott, a former MP for Telford.

The leisure facilities opened to the public in March.
