Gold bus honours Mickey Bushell and Danielle Brown wins

The bus will be officially unveiled on Tuesday near the Bushell family home

A bus has been painted gold in Shropshire in honour of Paralympians Mickey Bushell and Danielle Brown.

Bushell won gold in the T53 100m wheelchair final and Brown won the individual compound archery title.

Telford and Wrekin Council has painted a community bus, which is used to transport people with disabilities and mobility problems.

Council leader Kuldip Sahota said: "We wanted do something as a fitting and lasting tribute to their achievements."

"Everyone in Telford and Wrekin is incredibly proud of both their efforts and I am delighted that we have been able to do something tangible to reflect that," he said.

Bushell already has a gold postbox in Telford, which is his home town.

Brown is originally from Lothersdale, North Yorkshire but now lives in Telford.

The council said the bus would be officially unveiled at 9:00 BST on Tuesday close to Bushell's family home in Arleston Lane.

The bus carries a maximum of 15 people and has a low floor with a ramp for easy passenger access.
