Work on a new leisure development in Telford is to get under way.

Building work at the £250m Southwater complex is scheduled to last 18 months and will create a cinema, restaurants, bars and a hotel.

Telford & Wrekin's council leader Kuldip Sahota said the project had taken 10 years to develop and the council had had to be patient.

All the services have now been installed and building is getting under way this week, he said.
