Pupils at a Shropshire college have been signing the steel frame of their new £16m school building.

The new premises for Ercall Wood Technology College are due to open in September 2014.

The rebuild is part of Telford and Wrekin Council's £200 million Building Schools for the Future project.

Head teacher Chay Davis said: "Having signed and dated a piece of the steel work, there will always be a part of the school that will belong to them."

The new school will house 900 pupils and will have additional sports facilities.

The existing school buildings will be demolished later.
