One minute's applause has been held ahead of a football match in memory of a Shropshire teenager whose body was found in woodland.

The body of Georgia Williams, 17, was discovered off the Nant-y-Garth pass, near Wrexham, on 31 May.

AFC Telford United remembered Georgia, a volunteer at the club, ahead of their first game of the season.

Jamie Reynolds, 22, of Avondale Road, Wellington, Shropshire, has appeared in court charged with Georgia's murder.

The players also wore special armbands during the game and warmed up in Georgia Williams Trust T-shirts.

In June, it was announced that an annual award, known as the United For Georgia Trophy, will be presented to young volunteers at the club.

The game against Workington started at 15:00 BST.
