Shropshire crash: Woman dies in three-car collision

A woman has died and a man was seriously hurt in a crash involving three cars in Shropshire.
Weather conditions were very difficult when it happened on the A458 about a mile to the west of Dinky's Dinah in Ford, the ambulance service said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 21:30 GMT on Monday.
Elsewhere, the Environment Agency put up flood barriers in Shrewsbury on Friday morning.
Following the crash, a man in his 30s in another car was taken to hospital with face, hip and leg injuries.
A woman in the third car, and a man from the same vehicle as the woman who died, were both uninjured.
In a separate incident, a vehicle became stuck in flood water at a ford at Bynd Lane, Billingsley, on Monday evening, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
'Next wave'
In Shrewsbury, the Frankwell main and riverside car parks were closed, while flood warnings were issued for the area around the Quarry and the showground.
Demountable barriers were also put up downriver in Buildwas.
Environment Agency spokesman Chris Bainger said river levels were "still rising".
"In the Shrewsbury area I expect that probably to peak somewhere around Christmas Day afternoon," he said.
"Down in Ironbridge, it will be Christmas Day evening."
Mr Bainger added the main concern for the agency was "the next wave of weather".
He said: "The ground is absolutely saturated. It's not going to take very much more rain now to bring river levels back up. So Friday is not looking good."
