A revamped community and civic centre is fully opening after an £863,000 project lasting seven months.

Work at Whitchurch Civic Centre in Shropshire included improving the facade and foyer and upgrading heating, water and electrical systems.

The building includes the town library and tourist information.

The project was funded by Shropshire Council, Whitchurch Town Council and a Sainsbury's fund for public realm improvements.

The library, which is run by Shropshire Council, opened on 2 May and the rest of the building is leased to the town council.
