Two other bridges over the ring road, including West Bridge, have already been knocked down
Work to demolish a footbridge over Coventry's ring road has started in the latest phase of a £59m redevelopment.
The roads underneath junction six will be closed until 06:00 BST on Monday to allow contractors to pull down the old Freemans Way footbridge.
The redevelopment, called Friargate, will include a new bridge linking the city centre and railway station.
The city council said the delivery of steel beams to support the new bridge deck will arrive on Monday.

They will be installed over 10 nights from 8 September until 17 September, the council said.
Rachel Lancaster, cabinet member for public services, said: "We have scheduled the delivery and installation to cause as minimal disruption to road users as is possible, but with such a huge undertaking, it is inevitable there will be some delays to traffic."
She said the project was due to finish next Spring.
