Trees that people have donated to a council-run initiative are set to be given away for replanting.

The trees have been nurtured for a year at a Shrewsbury Town Council nursery as part of the Trees Outside of Woodland project.

They are now ready to be located, and a selection will be given away on three mornings this month.

New supplies for next year's tree giveaway will also be accepted, said Shropshire Council.

The trees on offer for free from the nursery at Weeping Cross, Shrewsbury, will include oak, yew, silver birch and bird cherry.

People can request a tree on the morning of Thursday 18, Saturday 27 and Tuesday 30 January, the council added.
