MoD helicopter jobs to move from Yeovilton to Bristol

About 160 Ministry of Defence (MoD) jobs are to be moved from Somerset to a site near Bristol to save cash.

Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) offices in Yeovilton will move 44 miles to Abbey Wood, South Gloucestershire, in February.

The Chinook Project Team (IPT) and two other helicopter project teams will move to the MoD procurement site.

An MoD spokesman said the move showed "the MoD's commitment to maximising funds available to the front line".

The DE&S relocation project is aimed at making £560m in savings over 25 years.

About 400 DE&S workers will remain on site in Yeovilton.
