Mendip District Council confirms budget cut of £1.1m

  • Published

Mendip District Council has confirmed its annual grant has dropped from £7.3m to £6.2m for next year (2011-12).

The savings are expected to be made by cutting management jobs, vacant posts and reducing public contracts.

A spokesman for the council said the management team was working closely with the cabinet on the impact this would have on council services.

The recommendations have been made following the Spending Review and will be debated in a cabinet meeting later.
