Bath A36 weight limit considered to keep lorries away
- Published
An 18-tonne weight restriction is being considered for part of the A36 in Bath to stop heavy lorries using the city as a through route.
Bath and North East Somerset Council said the scheme would run for a trial period so its effectiveness could be monitored.
The move would involve restrictions on HGVs turning between Bathwick Street and Beckford Road.
The council said the limit was one of several measures being considered.
A spokesman said: "The council is mindful that this traffic will be displaced which is why the restriction will be an experiment so that we can assess the impact."
