The Countess of Wessex has become vice patron of the Royal Bath and West of England Society.

She has acted as president since February 2010 and has visited the last two Royal Bath and West shows.

Society chairman Edwin White said they were "reluctant" to end ties with the Countess and he was pleased she had "accepted this permanent position".

"Her enthusiasm and leadership makes the Bath and West the show of choice for the farming industry," he added.
