Repairs are to be made to a Somerset railway bridge which has been blighted by nesting pigeons.

The bridge at Taunton railway station is to be cleaned up and repainted over the next 14 weeks.

Netting will also be placed underneath the bridge to prevent pigeons from nesting there.

The work carried out by Network Rail is due to be completed on 29 September. Temporary traffic lights will be installed.

Mavis Choong, from Network Rail said "there will be a clean and bright bridge for people to walk under" after the repairs are carried out.
